For those comtemplating state sponsorship, you should be aware that due to the upcoming Federal election and the Victorian state election, there is likely to be delays in come visa processing and or policy changes. In recent years, Immigration policy has been some what politicised (due largely to asylum seekers) so we can expect political parties to be making changes.

For instance,  the Victorian Government is currently finalising its own State Migration Plan and when finalised it will be released on their website. Only those professions or occupations they nominate will be considered for state sponsorship. It is expected that this new list of occupations will be released sometime in August 2010. As a result, state sponsorship in Victoria is not being considered before the new list is released.

Banksia is a full service visa bureau and is qualified to advise you a visa that best suits your needs.
Due to ongoing regulation changes and uncertainty, it is more important the ever to obtain the advice of a professional migration agent.

Sure you may save some money “do it yourself” but consider the impact of delays in your visa application or even worse a visa rejection!
