AHPRA.gov.au is the official website of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
On the ahpra.gov.au you will find the link to all the ten national health boards.
These include:
When AHPRA was formed, it replaced all the previous state based board such as the Nurses Board of Victoria or NBV etc. This new authority is charged with registration and administration of all health professionals in Australia. We now have a single national board for the regulation and registration of health professionals in Australia.
This means fantastic opportunity for health practitioners to work all over Australia operating under a single scheme of registration. Unfortunately the actual implementation of the national board as not been very smooth. Infact, some health professionals e.g. registered nurses have had a very difficult time during this transition. Difficulties include, a lack of customer service, a lack of clarity and consistency.
Fortunately, it feels like we are getting through this difficult period. It is now possible to actually speak with AHPRA officers and get some solid answers to questions. The transition has probably been more difficult for overseas nurses seeking registration in Australia.
Separated by distance, time differences and costing communication costs, many have been left wondering on the status of their registration applications.
Fortunately for Banksia Immigration clients, we have been able to followup on their applications and have been able to provide much need feedback to clients. Since we are in Australia, we can call them or visit the AHPRA office in person if necessary.
If you need some assistance with your AHPRA application then feel free to contact us via our contact form and we will contact you as soon as possible.
